TN Mountain Land Area AttractionsIn nearly 20 years of military service I've been all over this spectacular country but I've yet to find another location that has it all like TN mountain land and the Maryville area in particular. There are plenty of towns and cities nearby to take care of all your needs but the best part is God's awesome creation that you simply can't miss in this area. Going hiking in the 6,000+ Acre Foothills Wildlife Management Area (FWMA) won't even require a car since it joins the property. All property owners have access to the FWMA via a trail at the end of the private driveway. You can hike it all the way to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park which is only about 5 miles away as the crow flies and the scenic Foothills Parkway is even closer. Cades Cove inside the National Park is about 19 miles by road. Once you're in the park, you can jump on the Appalachian Trail and hike from Georgia to Maine! The area is also surrounded by lakes and rivers, not to mention creeks and branches. The Little Tennessee River runs around to the South, West, & North of the area forming a multitude of Lakes and Reservoirs. Chilhowee Lake is only 11 miles away and Tellico Lake isn't much further. So there's no shortage of things to do in the area especially if you love nature.
